Subway only uses good Palm Oil

So I got a reply from Subway to the email I sent them regarding the use of Palm Oil in their breads. Ups to them for getting back to me reasonably quickly. Here’s what Kristy had to say:

Hi Scott,

Thanks for contacting Subway Systems Australia. We understand that Palm Oil use is an important issue, and you’ll be happy to know that we have been working on this issue for some time.

Sustainable Palm Oil is currently present in three products: Bread, Cookies and Parmesan/Oregano Bread Topping. The Palm Oil used in these products meets the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) standards. The RSPO sets the global guidelines for producing palm oil sustainably, and they have been described as the world’s toughest standards for sustainable agriculture production. You can view more information on the RSPO at http://www.rspo.org.

Our wraps also contain Palm Oil and our supplier has recently achieved RSPO accreditation. A sustainable Palm Oil will soon be used in the wrap product across all restaurants in Australia.

We are also currently working towards reducing or removing the amount of sustainable Palm Oil used in our products in the near future, which will be a great next step.

Thanks for taking the time to highlight your concerns with us.
